This has continuously been on the to do list - sleeping early! I.e. A healthy habit which is highly encouraged, a natural (and free) benefit that strengthens, enhances and calms the whole body, mind and soul. We emphasise it for little ones (and not just because the parents may want some them-time lol), tend to do it before a morning exam or meeting and might definitely make the effort if we have a flight to catch the next day! Why can it sometimes feel that making an ongoing habit of it is not so easy to do?
Hm. Perhaps the evening needs to be redefined for the every day too. Sleeping early could basically mean “setting up for success the next day”, true or not true, for you?
Here are some things to consider should there be a wish to redefine the night:
Reframing sleep as an investment in health
Being okay with pausing to continue something later
Putting digi to bed earlier ;)
Following a strict wind down ritual
Journaling / Meditating to clear the mind just before bed
And, if you’re night owl, starting to think of yourself as an ‘early bird in training’. Thoughts?
We would want to do what's good for us and this seems to be a solid step in the right direction. Here discipline is key, but so is being reasonable with yourself and gaining control of what you want your days (and nights) to look like.
